STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A man wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting investigation in Starkville turns himself into police and investigators name another suspect.

Derek Javonte Hardnett, 21, of Starkville was taken into custody on Wednesday.

He was wanted for possession of a stolen firearm.

Meanwhile, two men remain on the run and are considered armed and dangerous.

Christopher Lockhart, 22, of Starkville is the third suspect SPD named on Wednesday. He’s wanted for possession of a stolen firearm and two counts of drive-by shooting.

Corey Quinn, 26, of Woodland is wanted for possession of a stolen firearm and drive-by shooting.

Investigators say that shooting occurred on Tabor Street.

On October 14th, Starkville police pursued a car to Haven 12 apartments where three suspects were seen running away from the complex.

That’s where Nia K. Smith, 19, was arrested. Officers say she drove the car involved in a drive-by shooting.

There were two reports of a drive-by shooting on that night. One was on Tabor Street and the other was at Camelot Apartments.

Smith was charged with drive-By shooting, felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Starkville Police are investigating Smith, as well as other suspects for a connection to fire arms trafficking.
