Starkville Police To Increase Presence at Schools
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- Starkville Police aren’t taking any chances.
Due to continued safety concerns, the department said they will be increasing security at the city’s schools on Friday, February 23.
SPD made this announcement Thursday night via Facebook, after receiving many concerns from Starkville residents.
The scare began February 21, after an individual on social media threatened to bring a gun to “SHS”. After an investigation, SPD determined the threat was not directed at Starkville High School but at Springfield High School in Ohio.
However, a recent post shows there are many residents, who are still concerned that a shooting may occur.
Police believe the recent posts are the aftermath of the previous scare, but again they will increase police presence at the schools.
