Starkville man indicted in child sex crime investigation

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Starkville man was indicted in a child sex crime investigation.

Shykel Spruell was charged with enticement of a child.

He was arrested in June 2022 for allegedly sending an 11-year-old girl messages on the internet.

The victim’s mother saw the messages and reported them to police.

Spruell was arrested in Columbus after arranging a meeting with the child.

No trial date has been set.
