Stabbing Sends One Person To The Hospital, Deputies Now Searching For The Suspect

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A Thursday night stabbing sends one man to the hospital while investigators now try to search for the person responsible.

It was at the Cal Kola Chevron gas station in Caledonia where an ambulance picked up the victim who was stabbed and transported him to the hospital.

According to Monroe county Sheriff Cecil Cantrell, Jason Chance is accused of stabbing Dusty Fretwell in the neck.

The stabbing happened on Wolfe Road in Monroe County.

Cantrell said someone tried to drive the victim to the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.

However, as they were en route to the hospital, the driver pulled over into the gas station and called 911 to get some help transporting Fretwell to the hospital.

The ambulance arrived at the Cal Kola Cheveron, picked up the victim, and took him to the hospital where’s he’s currently being treated for non life threatening injuries.

As of now, investigators are still looking for Jason Chance.
