Special judge appointed in contested Brooksville mayor’s race

BROOKSVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A special judge will decide the next step for the mayor’s race in Brooksville.

David Boswell was elected mayor in 2017.

But the challenger, Earlie Henley, Jr. contested absentee votes in the race.

Attorneys for both sides presented their case Wednesday in Noxubee County.

The Executive Committee for the county Democrats were also named in the complaint.

The specially appointed chancellor will now take the case under advisement.

Boswell will continue to serve as mayor for Brooksville until the judge makes a ruling.
