Southeastern US Tornado Research Project Set To Begin
VORTEX Southeast, a tornado research program under the direction of the National Severe Storms Lab, is slated to kick off on Tuesday, March 1st. During the months of March and April research teams plan to investigate 4-5 episodes of storms across the southeastern United States. Scientists hope to get a better understanding of the growth of instability and wind shear in the lower atmosphere as storm systems pass through this part of the country. Initial results will be shared between May and October. Follow this link for more details regarding VORTEX Southeast: http://www.nssl.noaa.gov/projects/vortexse/
