Video: Smithville Dedicates New School Campus After Tornado

SMITHVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – After being devastated by a tornado on April 27th, 2011, Smithville Schools held a dedication ceremony on their brand new campus Sunday.
Community members young and old came to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the Smithville Attendance Center–home to both the elementary and high schools. Smithville’s mayor, high school principal, and the superintendent of Monroe County all spoke giving thanks for the efforts of individuals, the community, and God for today’s exciting event. Students attending the newly built high school in the fall shared their excitement for the upcoming school year.
An Open House will be held on Tuesday, August 6th from 2-4pm.
