Simmons Suffers ACL Injury

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — With the NFL Draft looming, Mississippi State’s Jeffery Simmons looks could have a more difficult time getting his name called.

ESPN.com first reporting that Simmons suffered a knee injury during a routine training session. Simmons later confirmed the claim on twitter releasing a statement saying the injury sustained is a torn ACL.

Simmons, originally anticipated as a top ten draft pick, was informed about a month ago he would not be invited to the NFL combine.

The estimated timeline for potential surgery and recovery is yet to be announced.
