‘Sidewalk Sale’ Gives Shoppers A Chance To Browse Back To School Deals In Downtown Amory
AMORY, MISS. (WCBI) – A sidewalk sale in downtown Amory draws customers from across the region for some safe social distance shopping.
Amory Main Street sponsored a “Sidewalk Sale.” The event allows businesses to display merchandise outside their storefronts, and some places , like Legacy Hospice, even had snacks, like lemonade and cookies.
It is one way for customers to browse items while staying outside and at a safe distance from others. It is also a way to promote the downtown district.
“We were just trying to think of a way people could get out and shop for back to school and other things coming up and support local, and still be safe and so, what better way to spread out along our sidewalks in the open air,” said Alyssa Benedict, director of Amory Main Street.
Another big event is set for Saturday evening. “Crusin Amory” takes place Saturday. People cruise the loop in their vehicles. Some restaurants will be open later than usual Saturday evening.
