TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — The early bird gets the worm and the bargains at the City of Tupelo sidewalk sale.

Instead of meandering through neighborhoods with the classifieds and a map, bargain hunters simply had to hit Veterans park in Tupelo. The Parks and Recreation Department opened the park for families to set up their own sidewalk sale. Users say its great to be able to shop all in one spot.

Shanta Bolden is with Tupelo Parks and Recreation.

“I thought it was really good because it’s in a very good location where people come and go it’s in their neighborhood you don’t have to do it at your house so people are not coming to your house they can actually come to a public location and get all kinds of yard sale items,” she explains.

Bolden says those who set up booths have been very satisfied judging by the fact that they come back every year with even more items to sell.
