Buttahatchie River near Aberdeen

For the Buttahatchie River...including Aberdeen...Minor flooding is
forecast.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Buttahatchie River near Aberdeen.

* WHEN...From late Sunday night until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Water is covering a portion of Air Base
Road located on the west bank of the river. Low-lying farmland is
flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 8.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage early Monday
morning to 15.1 feet early Tuesday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Little Tallahatchie Canal at Etta

For the Little Tallahatchie River...including Etta...Minor flooding
is forecast.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Little Tallahatchie Canal at Etta.

* WHEN...From Sunday morning to late Monday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 28.0 feet, Cropland flooding is very extensive and
water begins to cover County Road 46. County Road 47 has 1 to 2
feet of water over the unpaved portions. Evacuations become
necessary due to access problems.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 12:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 11.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow morning to a crest of 27.5 feet tomorrow evening. It
will then fall below flood stage Monday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 25.0 feet.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Arkansas, including the following
counties, Ashley and Chicot, northeast Louisiana, including the
following parish, Morehouse, and Mississippi, including the
following counties, Bolivar, Carroll, Grenada, Holmes, Humphreys,
Leflore, Montgomery, Sunflower, Washington and Webster.

* WHEN...Through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Heavy rainfall of 3 to 5 inches with locally higher amounts
over a short period of time is likely.

Lee AR and Phillips, North Mississippi, including the following
areas, Alcorn, Benton MS, Coahoma, DeSoto, Lafayette, Marshall,
Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tunica and Union, and
West Tennessee, including the following areas, Chester, Decatur,
Fayette, Hardeman, Hardin, Henderson and McNairy.

* WHEN...Through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Extensive street
flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.
