* At 841 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the Memphis metro area this morning, with
additional heavy rainfall expected later this morning. In addition
to minor street flooding throughout the city and nearby suburbs,
heavy rainfall has also led to nuisance flooding throughout
counties just across the state line in Northern Mississippi.
Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen and more heavy
rainfall will occur through the day today. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

196 and 205 and Houston Levee Road near the Wolf River. Morrison

is flooding or flooded near the Wolf River Bridge. Residential
areas near the river in southeast Shelby County will begin to
flood.

Counties have reported numerous roadways underwater and closed
throughout their counties. Additional heavy rainfall is moving into
these counties within the hour and will add to the flash flooding
threat. Considerable flash flooding is expected to occur! Over 3 to
4 inches of rain has fallen this morning, and that is in addition to
the 2 to 5 inches of rain that occurred yesterday in these
locations. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND NOW!

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.
