Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall will compound the flash flooding
threat today through early Sunday morning. Rainfall totals will
approach 10 to 15 inches for areas along and north of I-40 through
Sunday with 3 to 10 inches to the south.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of East Arkansas, including the following areas,
Lee AR and Phillips, North Mississippi, including the following
areas, Alcorn, Benton MS, Coahoma, DeSoto, Lafayette, Marshall,
Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tunica and Union, and
West Tennessee, including the following areas, Chester, Decatur,
Fayette, Hardeman, Hardin, Henderson and McNairy.

* WHEN...Through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Extensive street
flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.

...Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity for the
following rivers in Tennessee...

Loosahatchie River at Arlington

For the Loosahatchie River...including Arlington...Major flooding is
forecast.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is
forecast. This approaches the flood of record.

* WHERE...Loosahatchie River at Arlington.

* WHEN...Until Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Brunswick Road is beginning to flood. Lots
north of Phillip Drive and south of Brief Road are being covered.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:15 AM CDT Friday the stage was 23.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 24.0 feet this morning. It
will hold nearly steady through the weekend.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Tennessee...

Wolf River near Rossville

For the Wolf River...including Rossville...Minor flooding is
forecast.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
This approaches the flood of record.

* WHERE...Wolf River near Rossville.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Flood water begins to flow over Highways
196 and 205 and Houston Levee Road near the Wolf River. Morrison
Creek at Rossville will begin to backwater flood around the
businesses near the railroad tracks. Collierville-Arlington road
is flooding or flooded near the Wolf River Bridge. Residential
areas near the river in southeast Shelby County will begin to
flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 13.7 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 6:00 AM CDT Friday was 13.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage this
afternoon to 11.3 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then
rise to flood stage Sunday morning. It will fall for the
remainder of the period.
- Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Warning for the following rivers in Tennessee...

Hatchie River near Bolivar

For the Hatchie River...including Bolivar, Rialto...Minor flooding
is forecast.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Hatchie River near Bolivar.

* WHEN...From Friday evening until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Water starts to flood homes on River Road.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to flood stage tomorrow
evening, then rise to 19.5 feet Sunday evening. It will then
fall again but remain above flood stage.
- Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
