Warning for the following rivers in Tennessee...Alabama...
Shoal Creek Near Iron City affecting Lawrence and Lauderdale
Counties.
For the Shoal Creek...including Iron City...Minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Shoal Creek near Iron City.
* WHEN...Until late tomorrow evening.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Agricultural areas along the creek,
portions of Iron City Park, and Sycamore Campground are inundated.
Portions of properties on Barney Ln in Rocky Hollow begin to be
impacted.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 10.0 feet and rising.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this evening and crest at 17.0 feet tomorrow morning. It
will then fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon.

overnight into this morning, and more heavy rainfall from
strong to severe thunderstorms is anticipated today into
tonight. Rain may be very heavy at times in thunderstorms

for flash flooding.

* Until 1000 PM CDT.
* At 758 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that thunderstorms
producing heavy rain persist across the northwestern corner of
Alabama. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The
expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional
rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Florence, Muscle Shoals, Russellville, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Red
Bay, Rogersville, Ardmore, Killen, Town Creek, Cherokee,
Littleville, Lexington, Leighton, St. Florian,

Extensive flooding has been reported to the NWS in Huntsville by
Lauderdale County EMA.

forecast. This approaches the flood of record.
* WHERE...Yalobusha River at Calhoun City.
* WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Extensive agricultural flooding is
occurring. Access to low-lying areas is restricted due to flood
waters covering secondary roads.

- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:15 PM CDT Saturday was 23.4 feet.
