Seven Arrested In Lowndes County Drug Round-Up
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) – During the week of March 2 through March 10 the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit started serving numerous arrest warrants for the sale of illegal narcotics in our community. The arrest warrants are from an investigation that started over one year ago to crack down on dealers putting drugs on the streets in Lowndes County and Columbus. The Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit arrested the following subjects with a total of twenty-two arrest warrants for sale of controlled substances to include the sale of marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy (MDMA), oxycodone, hydrocodone, and lortab.
Christopher Brewer, 21, of Columbus is charged with three counts of sale of marijuana.
Joe Lee Howard,32, of Columbus is charged with one count of sale of marijuana and two counts of sale of a controlled substance-oxycodone.
Joshua Murry, 23, of Columbus is charged with two counts of sale of marijuana and one count of sale of MDMA ecstasy.
Curtis Shirley, 23, of Columbus is charged with one count sale of a controlled substance-Lortab, One count sale of marijuana, and one count sale of cocaine.
Alonzo Brewer, 28, of Columbus is charged with three counts of sale of marijuana.
Jodi Baucom, 24, of Columbus is charged with three counts of sale of marijuana.
Christopher Coleman, 33, of Columbus is charged with possession of marijuana more than one ounce.
During this investigation thousands of dollars and several vehicles were seized by the narcotics unit. This is an ongoing investigation therefor total amounts and details are not being released at this time. There are more arrests to be expected.
