Sen. Cochran Makes Stop in Tupelo
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Miss. Senator Thad Cochran spent some time in the northeastern part of the state, and says he’s focusing on the upcoming November election.
Cochran stopped by the Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area offices in Tupelo. He toured the museum, which features information about Mississippi natives who have influenced music, literature, history and business.
The longtime lawmaker says he is grateful that voters gave him a victory over challenger Chris McDaniel in the June runoff and he is looking forward to November.
“I feel good, I’m healthy, I have a great staff of assistants who help me here in Mississippi and Washington, and make sure we carry out our responsibilities in a way that reflects credit on the people of Mississippi,” Cochran said.
McDaniel is expected to legally challenge Cochran’s runoff victory.
Cochran faces Travis Childers in the November general election.
