COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -Wednesday (9/26) is national “See You At The Pole” day.
Students across our area schools gathered around the pole this morning to pray.
“See You At The Pole” is student lead organization that takes place the fourth Wednesday in September. Students gather around their school’s flagpole to pray for their fellow classmates, teachers, school, and their country. Whether there is one student or hundreds gathered, it is about praying for awakening on campuses. For some, this mornings gathering at Columbus High School, shows that students are making a stand.

“It’s exciting to know that there is so many people and that we can all work together,” says Columbus High School student Thalia Saenz.
“It’s really neat to see so many students take a stand be bold and come out here and say you know, it doesn’t matter how hard it is to talk about Jesus inside the school we are going to stand out here right in front where everyone is going to see us and we are going to take a stand and pray for our country and pray for all these different situations in our life,” adds Mikey Stephens, children’s pastor at Evangel Church.
The global day of student prayer, began in 1990 with ten students praying at their school. More than two decades later, millions around the world pray on their campuses.
