Search underway after man escapes detention center

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Law enforcement are actively searching for a man who escaped the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.

Delvin Moore is who police say they’re looking for. Deputies say Moore escaped around 9 p.m.  Saturday evening.

You may remember Moore, he was arrested Friday by Columbus Police after an armed robbery at the Sprint Mart on Highway 69.

No word yet on how he escaped.

Deputies say he was wearing a maroon shirt, white pants and black shoes.
