Search Continues for Noxubee County Woman

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lucy Wilborn Townsend went missing five days ago from her Noxubee County home.

Despite the best efforts of volunteers and emergency workers, there is still no word on where she might be.

The 74 year old Townsend was last seen Thursday morning walking along Hwy 14 near the corner of Hill and Simmons Road.

Sheriff Terry Grassaree of Noxubee County says the search effort is still on-going.

Family and friends held a candlelight vigil Monday night in the area where Townsend was last seen.
