COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The Lowndes County school district is reaching out to parents Monday night, encouraging them to get involved.
That’s why it hosted “Parent Power Night” at the local library.
School district leaders invited parents from all Lowndes County schools to learn strategies to help their children with their studies.
They say it’s an event they host twice a year, because parent involvement is key to student success.
“Parents are very important in the child’s education,” said Dr. Peggy Rogers, Assistant Superintendent. “The parent and schools working together makes the power of parent involvement come alive.”
School district officials say they plan to have another meeting like this in the spring.
