Same Sex Spouses Can Share in State Employee Insurance

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Health insurance is now available for same sex spouses of state employees.

Attorney General Jim Hood says This includes government workers and those who work at state schools, colleges and universities.

The eligibility date of June 26th was the day the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage in all states.

Mississippi set a 60-day open-enrollment period.
