Road Closed In Downtown Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A portion of College Street in downtown Columbus is closed.

City engineer Kevin Stafford says crews are replacing a box culvert under the road.

College Street between 17th and 18th Street South is closed, just past the juvenile detention center.

The road will need to be repaved once the new culvert is in.

Stafford says workers hope to be complete with the project before Christmas.
