Ripley Man Dies In Sunday Wreck

CHICKASAW COUNTY (WCBI) – A Ripley man is dead following a Sunday night wreck in Chickasaw County,

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says 33 year old Jose Meletz of Ripley was heading south on Highway 41 when it crossed the center line and collided head on with the car driven by  a Pontotoc teen. A third vehicle then ran into the wreckage from the initial wreck.

Meletz was pronounced dead at the scene. Everyone  in the other two cars involved suffered minor injuries.

The wreck happened just outside the Okolona city limits.
