Retired Lowndes Law Enforcement Officer Helps Catch Accused Thief

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A retired law enforcement officer helps Lowndes County deputies catch an accused burglar.

Jerry Deloach, 31, is charged with one count of burglary.

Investigators say the former officer was working security at The Grove on Lehmberg Road when someone alerted him that a man was breaking into a unit on Wednesday.

Deputies say the former officer contacted law enforcement and followed Deloach to a pawn shop, where he was trying to pawn a leaf blower.
