Reform Leaders Craft Alcohol Regulations
Reform, AL (WCBI) – City leaders in Reform, Alabama will begin Tuesday crafting rules for newly-approved alcohol and beer sales.
Mayor Bennie Harton says the city council will meet at noon Tuesday to certify the results of Tuesday’s referendum. 64 percent of city voters said “yes” to going wet.
The mayor says council members also will set a meeting with their attorney to start drafting ordinances to regulate the sale of alcohol. Council members have collected at least three ordinances from other towns to use as a model.
Harton says public hearings also will be held to take citizen input. Sales could begin by this summer.
