Public Input Sought on Future of Ecru Post Office
ECRU, Miss. (WCBI) — Ecru residents might help decide whether the town keeps its post office.
The postal service has sent surveys to residents seeking input on proposals to close the post office or reduce its operating hours. Residents are encouraged to return the surveys and to attend a Dec. 3 hearing on the issue. That meeting is set for 6 p.m. at City Hall.
The proposal is part of the postal service’s nationwide effort to reduce costs and eliminate billions of dollars a year in losses. Several post offices across the region have seen hours reduced.
