Power Out For More Than 2,100
OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Power is out in parts of Lowndes & Oktibbeha Counties. This includes the Sessums and Oktoc Communities.
Officials with the Tennessee Valley Authority told us they have to replace a failed pole and hope to have it restored by sunset.
More than 2,100 residents are sitting in the dark. Officials said a transmitter pole failed. Crews are on the scene.
In the meantime, they are trying to switch over as many customers as they can to another substation. They will not be able to switch everyone over given the amount of energy being consumed due to the cold weather.
