AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Amory Post Office is on a mission – a very personal mission.
The staff set a goal this year of selling five thousand dollars worth of Breast Cancer Awareness stamps to help fund cancer research. They topped that goal, Friday.
The total ranks them sixth among post offices in the state and 70th in the country. But it’s all personal for them. Postmaster Tina Pate recently returned to work after being treated for ovarian cancer. And mail carrier Jenny Hathcock was diagnosed in April with breast cancer. Both were recognized with gifts of appreciation and inspiration at a reception at the post office today. By the end of the day, the drive had gathered $5,346.
