Pontotoc Furniture Co. Closes, Laying Off 63 Employees

PONTOTOC, Miss. – (WCBI) A Pontotoc furniture company closes its doors, leaving 63 people without jobs.

According the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, Genesis Furniture Company is officially closed, after making the official announcement on April 4th.

Genesis Furniture was a furniture wholesaler. Officials report a decline in demand and sales for the closure.

The Pontotoc WIN Job Center has set up an orientation session for Friday, April 25th for all laid off employees.
