Police Search For Suspect In Attempted Armed Robbery Investigation

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)  – A man tried to rob a woman in a Walmart parking lot… with an assault rifle.

On August 4th around 6:30 in the evening, Columbus Police got a call about an attempted robbery in the parking lot of the Walmart on Highway 45.

The victim told police that she was approached by a person carrying an assault rifle who demanded she give up her purse.

She says she refused and the suspect left, driving a dark-colored car.

Anyone with any information about the attempted robbery is asked to call the Columbus Police Department or Golden Triangle Crimestoppers.
