Police Chase Ends At Lowndes County Jail

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus man leads law enforcement on a pursuit this morning, January 5.

Ironically, the chase ended just feet away from the Lowndes County jail.

Lowndes County Narcotics Task Force agents and deputies tried to stop a Chevy Tahoe near 10th Avenue and 14th Street South.

The ride ended at Washington Avenue and South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Investigators say a large bag of marijuana was thrown from the SUV during the chase. It was later recovered.

A large amount of cash was also seized.

Now, 47 year-old Rodriquez Dismuke is charged with Felony Eluding Law Enforcement and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.
