Plenty of Sun Today with a Big Drop in Temperatures Tomorrow
COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Lots of sunshine in store for our Wednesday and highs around the 60 degree mark makes for a pleasant day! More clouds begin to work their way into the region ahead of our next cold front that will lead to a big drop in our temperatures for Thursday and Friday!
TODAY/TONIGHT – A chilly start to our Wednesday with clear sky conditions will allow for our temperatures to warm up nicely. Expect highs in the upper 50s and approaching the 60 degree mark for our southern counties. As a weak cold front starts to make its way into the region this afternoon, a spotty shower or two remains possible and will mainly stay north of Hwy 82. Heading into the overnight hours, heavy cloud coverage begins to work its way into NE Mississippi. Overnight lows will drop into the low 30s with a slight breeze out of the WNW.
TOMORROW – Frost and patchy fog are possible tomorrow morning with a cold and cloudy start to our Thursday. Heavy cloud coverage sticks around for the most part of our Thursday with the possibility of an isolated shower or two situated to our north. Expect a much colder day tomorrow with highs struggling to get into the mid 40s.
REST OF THIS WEEK – A cloudy and cold end to the work week with highs in the mid 40s for Thursday and Friday. Temperatures warm back up slightly for this weekend – right where we should be for late December. Things begin to clear up some for this weekend with sky conditions returning to partly cloudy.
