Plantersville man dies after being hit by car in Tupelo

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A Plantersville man was killed after being hit by a car in Tupelo.

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green said 53-year-old Curtis Ellis died at the scene.

The accident happened about 5:30 Sunday evening on Cliff Gookin Boulevard, near Mike’s Bar and Grill.

Ellis was hit as he was walking on Cliff Gookin.

Tupelo police said the driver stayed on the scene and there’s no indication of criminal intent.

The incident remains under investigation.
