Plantersville Etiquette Class
PLANTERSVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Students at Plantersville Middle School were able to put etiquette classes to good use during a community wide dinner.
Recently, the MSU Extension Service held an etiquette class for the middle school students.
The dinner was organized after Mayor Shelton Shannon asked the Extension Service to teach the class at the school.
Local churches provided the food for the event, which was dubbed “Dinner with the Pirates.”
“It’s important for them to have this because in life they will attend banquets, or formal events so we want to give them an opportunity to know what to do when they get in a situation and they just don’t know what to do,” said Tabitha McRunnels, a nutrition educator with the extension service.
More than sixty students attended the banquet. Early next year, the extension service will teach middle school students how to develop and balance a household budget.
