Video: Pioneer Health Services Ends Partnership with Choctaw Co.

ACKERMAN, Miss. – (WCBI) Eight months into a lease agreement with Choctaw County, Pioneer Health Services says it is time for the partnership to come to an end.

According to Pioneer Community Hospital of Choctaw Administrator Allen Gamble, Pioneer Health Services issued a letter last week (1/20/14), terminating the lease with the county.

The letter states the contract was breached when the county failed to pay $73,500 dollars for indigent care services provided.

While the letter states the termination is effective immediately, Gamble says that Pioneer will stay around until August 1st, or until a new tenant can be located.

Choctaw County Board of Supervisors will further discuss their options Friday (1/31/14) at 9 a.m.
