Pilot Cited For Lowndes County Highway Landing

LOWNDES CO., Miss. (WCBI) – You may recall the pilot who landed on a Lowndes County highway.

We learned today that he was actually cited for the landing.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says the pilot was given a ticket for obstruction of a public highway.

A Mississippi Department of Transportation employee called 9-1-1 after seeing the plane land near the intersection of Carson Road and Highway 792 on Tuesday afternoon.

The plane took off shortly after the pilot spoke with law enforcement.
