Video: Pedestrian Hit on Columbus’ Northside

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus man is in critical condition after being hit by a car near Sim Scott Park.

According to Assistant Police Chief Fred Shelton, the accident happened around 6:45 P.M.  at the intersection of 19th Street and 8th Avenue North.

Witnesses report the victim was lying beside the street, unresponsive.

He was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle, but later airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

The driver is cooperating with police.

Columbus Police are still investigating the incident.
