ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) — A $1,575,525 paving project will make it easier to visit one of the region’s quaintest downtowns.
Crews have been preparing five miles of Highway 145 from Highway 45 through downtown Aberdeen for paving during the next month.
The work will include leveling out a railroad crossing on the southwest edge of downtown. Some of the work through downtown will be done at night to avoid daytime congestion.
The work is expected to be finished by the end of November.
Aberdeen Mayor Cecil Belle pushed state transportation leaders to move the project up from next year as part of the city’s efforts to beautify its entrances from busy Highway 45.
