Patrol car crashes on way to call
CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Clay County deputy escaped serious injury after crashing his patrol car on the way to a call.
Sheriff Eddie Scott said the deputy was responding to a pursuit that was coming into West Point, just after 10 p.m. Thursday.
The cruiser hydroplaned on Highway 50, outside of Pheba.
The impact snapped a utility pole in half.
Scott said the deputy was taken to the hospital to be checked out but was not seriously injured.
The pursuit he was responding to reportedly started in Lee County.
