Oxford Police Chief to Retire This January
OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – After 34 years of safety service, Oxford Police Chief Mike Martin is to retire.
52 year old Martin began his career with the old University of Mississippi Fire Department.
Martin was elected chief in September 2007.
He was recognized as Mississippi Police Officer of the Year for 1991 and 1992.
Martin plans to retire on January 31st and looks forward to the slow pace.
Martin hopes to get the Oxford Police Department accredited before he retires.
