Oxford Educator Honored As New Teacher Of The Year

OXFORD, Miss. (Press Release)  – Oxford High School’s Jessica Peralta Honored as 2015 First Year Teacher of the Year by the Oxford School District

Jessica Peralta, a first year math teacher at Oxford High School, is the Oxford School District 2015 First Year Teacher of the Year.

Before she even started her first year of teaching, Peralta received a Knowles Science Teaching Foundation Fellowship worth $175,000. The program offered financial support to assist her with a variety of grants for classroom materials, professional development and more.

Peralta first came to the Oxford School District as a student teacher in the fall of 2012 and is a distinguished graduate from The University of Mississippi. To be named the Oxford School District First Teacher of the Year, a teacher must be in their first year of teaching within an Oxford school.
