One injured in fight that turned into shooting in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A fight turned to gunfire in Starkville Monday afternoon.

De’Anthony Avante Carpenter, 17, is wanted for Attempted Murder.

Starkville PD was called to Catherine Street around 3:47 p.m. to a report of a shooting.

Officers alleged the shooting happened after a fight between the victim and suspect.

The victim was taken to OCH Regional Medical Center and then flown out of the area for treatment. He is reportedly in stable, but serious condition.

Officers are continuing to investigate.
