One Hospitalized and One Jailed After Chickasaw County Shooting

CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) -A woman is recovering in an area hospital after deputies say she was shot in the head. Now, a suspect is behind bars.

The shooting happened around 5 PM Tuesday at home in Chickasaw County.

Chickasaw County Sheriff Jim Meyers says it happened at a home on County Road 52.

The victim was able to get away and drove to another house for help.

From there, Sheriff Meyers says she was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Deputies were able to recover a weapon from the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
