Marshall Henderson Named SEC Player of the Week
OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI/Daily Journal) —Marshall Henderson’s heroics did not go unnoticed by the SEC office.
The Ole Miss guard gained national attention for his buzzer-beating 35-foot jumper to force overtime at Vanderbilt, a game the Rebels eventually won 89-79. This morning, Henderson was named SEC player of the week.
Henderson scored 26 at Vanderbilt. He followed that up with only 16 points in the Rebels’ 76-64 win over Arkansas, but against the Razorbacks Henderson added five rebounds and five steals and hit the timely shots – along with Nick Williams – to help the Rebels pull away.
The win moved Ole Miss to 4-0 in the SEC for the first time since the 1936-37 season.
