Ole Miss Baseball Players Progress in Pros
(WCBI Sports/Ole Miss Athletics) – Five former Ole Miss baseball players are with Major League teams right now. Cardinals’ pitcher Lance Lynn leads three that are seeing the most action. He had 10 wins before the All-Star break and is tied for sixth in the Majors in wins. St. Louis leads Pittsburgh in the NL Central.
Shortstop Zack Cozart hit .278 in the month of May for the Reds. He has 7 HRs through 90 games and ranks fifth among shortstops in doubles.
Seth Smith, playing outfield for the AL West leading Oakland Athletics, hit .321 in the month of April. He has 6 HRs.
From the 2013 Rebels’ team, catcher Stuart Turner is with the Twins organization while pitcher Bobby Wahl is with the Athletics. They’ve appeared in 16 games combined in the minors.
