Ole Miss 2014 Football Slate Released
OXFORD, Miss. – With the Southeastern Conference slate in place, Ole Miss has announced its football schedule for the 2014 season.
The Rebels begin the season away from Oxford for the second straight year, and this time with a pair of high-profile, out-of-town matchups. As previously announced, Ole Miss faces Boise State at Atlanta’s Georgia Dome on Thursday, Aug. 28, and that contest will be followed by the SEC opener at Vanderbilt on Sept. 6. In order to balance the 14-team league slate, it makes two years in a row for the Rebels to commence conference play in Nashville.
After two on the road, Ole Miss returns home for a three-game homestand, capped by an Oct. 4 encounter with Alabama. The Rebels’ home opener is Louisiana-Lafayette on Sept. 13, and after the first of two bye weeks, the Mid-South rivalry with Memphis will be renewed on Sept. 27.
Ole Miss alternates home-and-road SEC weekends through the month of October. The Bama game is followed by Texas A&M in College Station on Oct. 11, Tennessee in Oxford on Oct. 18 and LSU in Baton Rouge on Oct. 25.
November kicks off with Auburn and Presbyterian at home on the first and eighth, respectively. After the second open date, the Rebels close out the campaign at Arkansas on Nov. 22 and home for Mississippi State on Nov. 29.
For the 23rd consecutive year, the 2014 season will culminate with the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 6 at the Georgia Dome.
