STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) – A judge has postponed the trial of a Sturgis man charged with capital murder in the 2008 shootings of two people – one fatally.
Archie Quinn was charged in the shooting death of his girlfriend, Stacy M. Gray, and the wounding of 45-year old Terry Johnson at a county residence.
Prosecutors say deputies were called to a home after receiving a report of gunshots. The deputies came upon Quinn who got out of his vehicle, walked to the back of it and shot himself in the head. Quinn recovered from the wound.
The Commercial Dispatch reports the trial was scheduled for next week in Oktibbeha County. The trial was continued due to the death of one of the attorney’s mother.
No new trial date has been set.
