TUPELO, Miss.  (WCBI) – Tupelo is preparing to say goodbye to its fallen officer Sergeant Gale Stauffer and is asking citizens to help pay the final respects by lining the funeral route.

The funeral procession is set to leave First United Methodist at approximately 11:50 traveling west on Main to crosstown where it will turn north on Gloster.  It will follow Gloster before turning on West Jackson to Clayton.

The family has asked the mourners to then turn right on Clayton to Woodlawn street and turn down Woodlawn. That route will take Sergeant Stauffer past his home on Woodlawn one last time. From there the procession will turn on Joyner to Tupelo Memorial Gardens where the burial with full military and law enforcement honors will take place.
