Odd Lowndes County Arrest

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An Alabama man calls the cops on himself.

26 year old Brandon Hughes was arrested late Sunday night after he called 911 that he had broken into a house. According to Hughes, he and his brother were driving around when the two began arguing, which prompted Hughes to get out of the vehicle and walk to a home on Highway 12 near Caledonia. Hughes broke in through the back door and called 911 stating he thought his brother was going to harm him.

When the Lowndes County Deputy’s arrived they found Hughes still inside the residence. No one was home at the time. Hughes had just been released December 23rd after serving two years in prison. He now faces charges on burglary-breaking and entering of a dwelling and violation of parole. Bond has been set at $10,000 .

He remains behind bars at the Lowndes County Detention Center.
