NWS Confirms No Tornadoes
A survey crew from the National Weather Service in Jackson surveyed Noxubee, Oktibbeha, and Clay Counties Thursday. They determined that there was no evidence of tornado touchdowns from the showers that moved through the area on Wednesday, September 5th. NWS meteorologists say that the minor tree damage that was discovered was most likely due to non-severe straight-line winds between 40-50 mph.
